New Lessons

July 22, 2010

"Rocky Top," written by Dolly Parton, is a bluegrass classic. Howard shows you how to play it in this new Intermediate Lesson - along with the story of how he met Dolly a few years ago! The lesson can also be found in the Folk/Irish/Bluegrass section. There's also a new scale exercise involving playing all 12 scales in order going up and down - it'll really challenge you and sharpen your mental agility for improvising over chord changes.

Ever tried playing the blues with only one chord? Check out this E7 boogie-blues, similar to tunes by Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, etc. Try it out in this new lesson. For Advanced players, there's a new lesson on integrating overblows into blues improvisations by using them in simple blues licks. This is a good thing for intermediate players to check out, too.
