How to find Backing Tracks

I have provided backing tracks to just about all of the tunes I cover in the lessons. You can find backing tracks with the lesson on a specific tune. Or if you want to search for specific tracks or browse to see what there is- and there is PLENTY- go to the TRACKS Menu on the top bar of the home page. There you will find ALL of the backing tracks arranged by level, from Basic to Virtuoso. Enjoy!

The Old Time tune "Freight Train" is a great one for basic players to learn. Players of any level should check it out. There's a neat story behind the song's origin. For Intermediate players, there's a new lesson on the Cream classic, blues-based "Sunshine of Your Love."

For all of you wondering what those words mean on this website, here is the answer. I separate the levels by technique. Basic means that you can blow and draw all the notes, but don't know how to bend. In the category I also include the most basic lessons on playing the harmonica, but some of the tunes are not totally simple- they just don't have any bends.

Organized by Dr. Wendy Sternberg of Genesis at the Crossroads, Saffron Caravan is a true World Music group, consisting of Kiu Haghighi, santur (Iran), Humayun Khan, vocal/harmonium (Afghanistan), Haroun Alam, tabla (USA/Pakistan), Jean Leroy, percussion/vocals (Canada), and Howard Levy, piano/harmonica/leader. The group's cd "Unfolding", with Howard, Kiu, and Jean, is available at gatc.org.
