Understanding the chord changes for George Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm" is an essential concept for any jazz musician. It was explained in an Intermediate Lesson but is now explored more deeply in a new Advanced Lesson and a Virtuoso Lesson too. New Backing Tracks are provided!

"Sweet Georgia Brown," another song with interesting chord changes for jazz soloing. Intermediate players can solo over these chords. Advanced Players players can further explore the harmonies of this classic tune using overblows and overdraws. Play along with Howard on piano on this new backing track.

It's a new lesson on the Horace Silver soul-jazz classic "Song for My Father." Although it's in the Advanced section, Intermediate players also may want to take a crack at it because you can play blues licks over the chord changes. New Tune Friday for Feb. 5th (with extra bonus lessons too!)

Our "New Tune" Friday song is "Mystery Train." Even though it's in the Intermediate section, advanced players will enjoy it too. Download the backing track and send a video of yourself playing! But there's more...for Intermediate players: a new lesson on playing Latin-style blues in D minor. In Advanced, a lesson on a Bach Invention, playing Diminished scales over ii-V-I changes and a song I wrote called "Mellow Bird Blues." Oh, and a blues in 5/4 too. Be sure to download the backing tracks when applicable. Enjoy!
