New Tune Friday for Feb. 19th February 20, 2010 "Sweet Georgia Brown," another song with interesting chord changes for jazz soloing. Intermediate players can solo over these chords. Advanced Players players can further explore the harmonies of this classic tune using overblows and overdraws. Play along with Howard on piano on this new backing track.

Even though it's in the Intermediate section, advanced players will enjoy it too. Download the backing track and send a video of yourself playing! But there's more...for Intermediate players: a new lesson on playing Latin-style blues in D minor. In Advanced, a lesson on a Bach Invention, playing Diminished scales over ii-V-I changes and a song I wrote called "Mellow Bird Blues." Oh, and a blues in 5/4 too.
